ROAD CLOSURE AND DETOUR

Rutherford 2024 Watermain Replacement Project

Swatara Township & Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County, PA – Veolia will implement a road closure and detour on Nyes Road (SR 2019) beginning May 11, 2026, for watermain replacement work.

WHAT: Road closure on Nyes Road for watermain replacement

WHERE: Nyes Road (SR 2019), through Swatara Township & Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County

WHEN: Beginning May 11, 2026

             Duration: Approximately two weeks, dependant on weather conditions

DETOUR ROUTE: Motorists will be detoured via Union Deposit Road, Derry Street, and surrounding local roads. Detour signage will be posted in advance of the closure and throughout the detour route. Local traffic only will be permitted within 0.5 miles of the closure. Image included on Page 2.

IMPACT: Nyes Road will be completely closed to through traffic during construction. Motorists should plan for additional travel time and follow posted detour signs.
