Proposed zoning amendment
- The Board of Commissioners of the Township of Swatara intends to consider for adoption and vote upon the enactment of the Ordinance summarized below at its regularly scheduled public meeting immediately following said public hearing on April 2, 2025.If enacted, the proposed amendment to the Zoning Map will rezone the following parcels from A Agricultural District to the MU Mixed Use District: 63-062-040-000-0000 (southern portion), 63-062-098-000-0000, 63-062-041-000-0000, 63-062-051-000-0000, 63-062-052-000-0000, 63-062-123-000-0000, and 63-062-126-000-0000; and the following parcels from the R-S Single-Family Residential District to the MU Mixed Use District: 63-062-040-000-0000 (northern portion), 63-062-042-000-0000, 63-062-064-000-0000, 63-062-109-000-0000, 63-062-043-000-0000, 63-062-044-000-0000, 63-062-045-000-0000, 63-062-047-000-0000, 63-062-046-000-0000, 63-062-090-000-0000, 63-062-049-000-0000, 63-062-050-000-0000, 63-062-120-000-0000, 63-062-121-000-0000, and 63-062-059-000-0000. You have received this Notice because you own property that would be re-zoned, if the proposed Ordinance is enacted.The proposed Ordinance would also permit Data Centers by right in the MU District, and would provide for standards and criteria governing the same.Any interested citizen or party with legal standing who attends the public hearing will be given a full opportunity to be heard. A copy of the proposed Ordinance may be examined without charge at the Swatara Township Municipal Building at 599 Eisenhower Boulevard, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, during regular business hours, which are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A copy will be provided upon request without charge.
