PLEASE LOCK YOUR DOORS!

The Swatara Township Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors to lock vehicle doors, keep valuables out of sight, and never leave your keys in your vehicle. While keeping valuables out of sight is a good idea, the best practice is to take your valuables with you; don’t leave them in the vehicle. Our police department has seen an increase in the amount of thefts from vehicles over the past week and we are working hard to catch the thieves. You can help us by locking your doors, securing your valuables, bringing your keys with you AND by calling dispatch if/when you see something suspicious. Thieves will often walk by cars and pull on door handles looking for an easy target. If you see someone walking around pulling on door handles, or something similarly suspicious, PLEASE call dispatch immediately. The non-emergency number for Dauphin County Dispatch is 717-558-6900.
